The energies that motivate our thoughts and behavior come in waves. The oceans of consciousness glides gently into the shores of our celebrations or crash violently into the cliffs of our traumas. Writers get writer’s blocks and then suddenly unleash cultural tsunamis that change the tides of history. The physical passion we felt for our partners may fade for a period then unexpectedly ignite in a hurricane of animal lust.
There is some solace in the idea that those events which we label (in moments of weakness) as “the end,” such as losing a job, an opportunity or a home, are in fact only speed bumps on life’s long bumpy road. This is a pleasant frame with which to view our setbacks.
We can chose to go deeper, should we wish.
To view a pattern and energy in our existence that our ancestors knew to be as real as the electronic device you are holding in your hand and reading this on. Life comes in waves. We are up. We are down. We feel happy. We feel sad. We get excited. We get content. Yin. Yang.
Whatever setback you might feel, weather it is an internal crisis or an external hardship, it shall pass. You are in charge of your body but not of that ocean of life energy. That’s been around long before you. Trust that the only constant in life is change. Your creativity will return. Your motivation will spark. Your relationships will evolve. And know that you never are, nor ever have been, alone.
